Dialog
is a trademark of Mobil Rom SA, the company that launched the
GSM network in Romania, on June, 1997. The members of the consortium
were: France Telecom Mobiles International - 51%, Media Pro Group
- 30%, Computerland - 10%, Tomen Telecom Project Romania and Alcatel
Network Systems Romania (9%).
Mobil Rom SA offers a subscription based service (Dialog) and
a prepaid service (Alo).
Since late 1999 the new structure of shareholders is: France Telecom
Group - 67%, American Investment Group and Societe Generale -
14.28%, MMR Group (Media Pro, MBL Computers and Radcom) –
9.52%, Tomen Company Japan – 5.1%, Alcatel NV – 2.86%.
In May 2000, France Telecom acquired Orange and decided this is
going to be the name of the group that will bring together all
its mobile communications activities.
Starting with April 2002, Dialog and Alo became Orange.
Orange is a trademark of Orange Romania SA, the company
that was created due to changing of the name of the group that
will bring together all France Telecom's mobile communications
activities. The new name was launched on April 5th 2002, replacing
the previous name of the service, Dialog. The structure of shareholders
is: France Telecom Group - 67%, American Investment Group and

and Radcom) – 9.52%, Tomen Company Japan – 5.1%, Alcatel
